Why Our Clients Love Capital Bay Construction
At Capital Bay Construction, we’re known for more than just beautiful kitchens and seamless remodels — our clients come back (and refer their friends) because of how we treat people, not just projects.
For over 30 years, homeowners and business owners alike have trusted us to deliver quality work, clear communication, and craftsmanship that lasts. We don’t just show up with a crew and a timeline — we show up with a plan, a point of contact, and a promise to do things right.
Our clients love that we offer detailed, line-by-line estimates — not vague guesses — and that we stick to our word. Many appreciate the peace of mind that comes from working with a licensed and insured contractor who personally oversees every job. Others choose us for our clean worksites, respectful crews, and ability to stay on schedule without sacrificing quality.
From kitchen and bathroom remodels to decks and pools, every project is built with care, using manufacturer-recommended installation methods and vetted subcontractors. We back all labor with a 1-year warranty — but our goal is that you’ll never need it.
At the heart of it all, we believe your home should reflect your lifestyle and values. That’s why we listen first, offer honest feedback, and never push what you don’t need.
If you’re looking for a contractor who shows up, follows through, and takes pride in the final result, you’ll love working with Capital Bay Construction.
Remodeling & Renovation FAQ's

How do you create accurate estimates — and what makes your process different from other contractors?

At Capital Bay Construction, we don’t believe in ballpark pricing or vague verbal quotes.
Every estimate we provide is line-by-line and scope-specific, built only after a thorough site assessment and conversation with the client about needs, materials, and expectations. We use actual labor and material costs — not padded percentages — and account for regional code requirements, manufacturer specifications, and likely contingencies based on your home’s age, structure, and accessibility.
We often include optional 3D renderings to help clients visualize the final result before committing. Because our estimates are built with real data and long-term experience, we rarely go over budget — and when change orders are necessary, they’re always discussed up front, not after the fact.

How long do most remodeling projects really take — and what causes delays?

Most of our kitchen and bathroom remodels are completed in 10–30 days, depending on scope and permitting.
However, it’s not just about time on site — planning and prep is what makes the timeline smooth. We spend time up front coordinating trades, verifying lead times on materials, and mapping out phases to eliminate downtime between crews.
Delays most often happen when clients make material changes mid-project (e.g., choosing a different tile or faucet after framing starts), when permits are slow due to local backlogs, or when structural surprises arise (like old electrical or water damage). Our job is to anticipate these variables — and keep you informed every step of the way.

What’s your process for managing subcontractors — and how do you ensure quality?

What do you do differently when it comes to inspections and building code compliance?

We handle all permitting and inspections internally — no surprises, no cutting corners. Before any construction begins, we submit detailed scope documentation to your local building department, whether that’s Sacramento or Phoenix. During the build, we schedule and meet with inspectors directly, so you don’t have to worry about city red tape.
But beyond just passing inspections, we build to manufacturer-certified standards — often exceeding basic code. For example, we follow Schluter's full waterproofing system in tiled showers and use oversized framing hardware in deck builds to account for future load changes. The result? Fewer callbacks, longer lifespans, and safer structures.

How do you handle client changes mid-project — and how are change orders managed?

We understand that sometimes, clients change their mind — maybe you find a tile you like better or decide to upgrade to a frameless shower. We don’t penalize you for evolving vision, but we treat all changes with clarity and structure.
Every change is documented in a formal change order, which includes adjusted cost, timeline impact (if any), and a sign-off before work proceeds. Nothing is verbal. This protects both you and us from misunderstandings and keeps the entire project financially and logistically transparent.

What happens after the project is done — do you offer any post-completion support?

Absolutely. We provide a 1-year labor warranty on all completed work, and we remain available to answer questions or address concerns long after the final walkthrough. Before wrapping up, we conduct a final punch list walkthrough with you to identify any tweaks or adjustments.
We’ll also provide documentation on how to care for your new materials, product warranties, and contact info for service follow-up if needed.
More importantly, we don’t disappear. Clients often reach out months later to ask about appliance settings, cabinet adjustments, or future phases — and we’re happy to help.
